red & white sampler ...

Its a beautiful sunny day here, the perfect day to hang out white linen..

So between chores of cleaning, laundry, dog grooming and the all-important chat-with-the-next-door-neighbor-who's -returned-from-holiday, I managed to take a picture of this mammoth! I couldn't get a good shot standing on a chair and hoping for a good aim, so I fixed it to the hedge in the garden.
did manage to sneak in some stitching this morning early over a quiet cup of tea - the numbers under the dragon.

Happy Wednesday!

This is really neat Heidi! Who is the designer? What pretty fonts are used for the letters and numbers too.

I love using 18 count which is 36 draads. You could try that as it is just that little bit finer than 14 but not so hard to see as 20 (40) count.

I had to laugh when you said our UFOs are not going anywhere. Sometimes I wish some would go to outerspace so I had a clean slate to start again. But then I would miss some of these beauties that I really do want to get quilted. :)

Hugs ~

Hey Heidi!

Uhm, well, the designer is ...me. The letters and motifs are picked out my collection of books and magazines.

18 count? wow, that sounds so tiny! In that respect I"m still kind of a newbie when it cones to using sizes - it's been only a year since I've begun cross stitch in earnest, so there's lot's for me to learn! lol!

Well, I had a laugh too! I was rummaging around in my closet looking for a closure for a project, and found yet another UFO - a crocheted one!

But you are right about the quilting - there's are so many beautiful things we start and want to enjoy in our homes, it's just a shame to leave it in the closet, don't you think? I guess it means we have a lot of work to do..lol!
